  • Essay / My personal aspects of mathematics and my mathematical experiences

    My experiences learning mathematics have, for the most part, been very positive. I loved moving at my own pace and learning different branches of mathematics when I was at school. I thought it was “cool” to move up to the next level and take classes with these kids. My most memorable math experiences vary by grade level. In sixth grade, my math teacher was very enthusiastic and we did a lot of hands-on learning which I enjoyed. He also used many visual representations that stood out to me. For example, when learning more than and less than, he created alligator mouth posters that we used to practice with the whole class on review days.
