Critical thinking requires consistent behavior in asking the right questions about the topic. In my life, I have encountered people who ask a lot of questions and others who "go with the flow" and believe everything they hear because it is said with some sort of authority. Assumptions can be detrimental to relationships and without critical thinking and communication, our thought process can assume a completely wrong idea. When I speak with someone who is a critical thinker, they can be so convincing that it is often difficult to decide what the right conclusions are. Making inferences is reaching a conclusion based on evidence and reasoning through critical thinking and asking the right questions.Critical Thinking and AssumptionsCritical thinking requires consistent behavior by asking the right questions about the subject. Critical thinking is that way of thinking about any subject, content. , or problem - in which the thinker improves the quality of his thinking by skillfully analyzing, evaluating and reconstructing it. Critical thinking is self-directed, self-disciplined, self-monitoring, and self-correcting thinking. (Foundation for Critical Thinking, 2013)Critical thinking hasn't been as important in my life as I suppose it should be. Many times in my life, when I was speaking about a topic, I was told to shut up and I didn't. I know what I was talking about. Someone else has always had a “better” opinion, so I usually don’t have too many “ideas” of my own. A self-esteem issue that I know I need to fix... middle of paper ... by asking the right questions, never taking what someone says as the truth just because they say it .
