  • Essay / Agricultural Education Case Study - 710

The field of veterinary science is a scientific field where higher standards must be met. According to Texas A&M, one of the oldest and most prestigious veterinary science programs in the United States, “Becoming a veterinarian requires dedication and diligent study. The veterinary student must meet high standards of ethics and academic performance (para. 1)” (Texas A&M University, 2013). One of the teaching strategies in agricultural education is problem-based learning (PBL). Machine learning is an effective and enjoyable way to learn and develop the deeper learning skills needed to succeed in college, career, and civic life. A study led by BA Talbert, PhD. concluded that FFA members who were more engaged and participated in agriculture classes did so because the classes were interesting, challenging, exciting, and open to discussion (Talbert). Providing these types of learning experiences can help our students excel as 21st century learners and prepare for the 21st century job market.
