Essay / Buck Moon - 640
Buck MoonAs [main character] exited [random area which will no longer be used]. He thought about why he had to go there all the time, because it was taking a toll on his mental health (figuratively of course). Well, he was so deep in thought that he forgot to notice... well, he noticed soon enough. What an unsightly situation. For one, he was removed from the Animus, which was mostly an oversight on his part, as he would no longer be able to know what was going to happen next. For those who don't know, the Animus is a machine that allows the user to relive the memories of a deceased person. Think of it like resurrecting someone's memories. These machines are produced as game consoles by Abstergo Entertainment, but these only play recorded memories. The [main character] was an employee of this organization. His job was simple: play with memories and follow any interesting leads he or his boss found. It was simple but monotonous work that brought a nostalgia that was almost impossible to obtain. He got up from his desk and headed towards the elevator to leave. Just before entering the elevator, the secretary told him he needed to talk to his boss, and he did. The news his boss gave him was astonishing. He was told that he would test the memories of a new subject that Abstergo would use in the near future. His boss also explained that since this was the first time Abstergo had gone off his topic list, he would have to be extremely careful. His boss then explained that he had no idea what was going to happen once he entered, so if anything went wrong he would be forcibly removed from the Animus. The [main character] left his boss's office and went home. The next day, [main character...... middle of paper ...... with lightning-fast reflexes, Corvo drew his gun and fired, but his shot never hit the man as he dematerialized elsewhere before the gunshot hit him. Corvo fired again but the man still avoided his attack. The man then materialized in front of Corvo, Corvo then drew his sword before the man could strike him with his sword and their swords met. Corvo pushed him back with his sword and fired another shot. This time the bullet hit its target and the man disintegrated. The Empress ran to Corvo and asked him if he was okay, to which he replied yes. But the man Corvo had just fought materialized behind the Empress and stabbed her in the back. Others materialized near them and took the Empress's daughter and disappeared with her. Corvo held the Empress in his arms and heard her say "Find her, Corvo." And with that, the Empress died in Corvo's arms..
