    Integrating faith into care plans and treatments brings a sense of peace and comfort that would not otherwise be achievable. A simple prayer is one of the ways we nurses can bring relief to our patients by helping them feel the peace they desperately need. “With an intentional focus on spiritual health, the faith-based community nurse (FCH) primarily uses interventions of education, counseling, active listening, advocacy, guidance, and prayer” (Breisch, Spach and Moore, 2013). Spiritual health also incorporates the use of active listening, which I find to be an essential trait. Having the ability to truly listen to your patients' needs and concerns also allows you to focus on their spiritual needs, which are sometimes as important as their physical needs.
