They have the ability to think, feel and act in accordance with moral laws. Ethics clearly shows that acting on human emotions ultimately results in unethical or immoral action. Instead of following one's emotion, ethics emphasizes the importance of the categorical imperative which allows one to do things without worry of despondency. The categorical imperative emphasizes “treating people as an end, never as a mere means.” In other words, we have an obligation to treat people with respect and not as a means to get what we want. Prostitution degrades the body and violates the personal dignity of the human being. Prostitutes offer their bodies to others. According to Kant's deontological theory, the degradation of the body is immoral in itself. Clients who use the prostitute's services violate the categorical imperative by blackmailing women as a means of sexual gratification.
