Just being able to have control of the movie in your hand and watch it over and over again. The price of purchasing a DVD is cheaper than spending your money at the cinema. You can easily beat the food you can eat at home versus the limited selection at the theater. The downsides are the experience of watching the movie at home rather than in the theater, waiting for the movie to come out on DVD, and scratching the DVD. Overall, in my opinion, I think the pros and cons of buying a DVD outweigh going to the theater.
