We can learn from Tony's mistakes. We can learn that family comes first. Society can also learn that taking shortcuts in life sometimes leads to dead ends with no turning back. This film presents the timeline of how a drug lord was able to rise to power from nothing. This film also shows how the same power one gains by becoming a drug lord can be taken at any time. Studying how to analyze film has definitely changed my perspective on how I watch films. In fact, I watch every detail in movies. I look at camera angles and how they affect the scene. I'm even starting to wonder why the director didn't use a different angle for certain shots. By using film theories and criticism, one can generate enough ideas to better understand the film. When capturing a film, the director focuses on certain angles and lights to convey to the audience the meaning of the scene. Just like everything in life has a meaning, everything in the film also has a sense of comparison. This course broadened my intellect on how films affect our societies. Movies can play a major role in how we act or even how laws are created. Movies have the same power as music. I say that films have the same power because you can watch a film and want to become what you saw in the film. One of the major skills I developed in this course is the ability to concentrate.
