Essay / Space debris and its Ciaos - 1250
Space debris: the accumulation and collection of waste left in orbit. Space debris is also called space junk, space junk, orbital junk, orbital debris and space junk. Space junk consists of non-functional satellites, old pieces of spacecraft, pieces of booster rockets, lost equipment and other trash. Subsequently, space debris is classified into several categories, including but not limited to oversized and undersized space debris as well as high-altitude and high-altitude debris. All space debris moves throughout Earth's orbit. During the space race of the 20th century, space debris began to be placed in Earth's orbit. This was later done by humans, fittingly after the launch of Sputnik, the first satellite launched into space. On June 3, 1965, astronaut Edward Higgins White II made his first spacewalk. Outside the spaceship, White's spare thermal glove escaped and floated away. He escaped through an open hatch in the spaceship. The glove became one of several objects listed as early space debris. Similarly, astronaut Suni Williams lost a camera in space. While in Earth's orbit repairing parts of the International Space Station, she became detached from her space suit and drifted into space. Uncontrolled space waste is becoming a bigger problem than before. In addition to the continued growth of space debris in Earth's orbit, NASA scientists fear the occurrence of catastrophic collisions. In order to avoid being hit by space debris, scientists have developed the collision avoidance technique. They are also looking for ways to clear debris from Earth's orbit. Most importantly, tracking these items is essential to resolving any issues. The amount of space junk accumulates daily due to the high volume of...... middle of paper ......ax-it/ http:// www.rawstory.com/rs/2013/04/ 25/scientists-warn-orbiting-space-junk-an-urgent-problem/ http://www.euronews.com/2013/04/24/space-debris-problem-piles-up/ http://www. space.com/20138-russian-satellite-chinese-space-junk.html http://www.theguardian.com/science/2004/oct/11/sciencenews.spaceexploration http://cosmoquest.org/blog/365daysofastronomy/ 2009/09/19/september-19th-ed-whites-glove/ http://www.space.com/20918-nasa-telescope-dodges-space-junk. html http://www.fermi.gsfc.nasa.gov/ http://www.opsjournal.org/assets/SecureDocumentLibrary/DocumentLibraryManager/documents/SOCLetter_v9-3_EunHyoek.pdf https://spie.org/x84761.xml http://www.tethers.com/OrbitalDebris.html http://www.satview.org/decay.php http://www.foxnews.com/science/2013/11/08/track-europe-falling- 2000-pound-satellite-in-real-time/http://orbitaldebris.jsc.nasa.gov/newsletter/pdfs/odqnv11i4.pdf
