Their options were between two men: Jesus and Barabbas. Ironically, both of their names represent the term Son of the Father. If you were to analyze the name Barabbas, you would find this to be true. BAR (means Son of) Abbas (Father). The difference between these two men was a matter of heart. Barabbas was a murderer, a thief, and a constant nuisance. Jesus, however, was pure in heart, loved, and lived out his days accomplishing what God had sent him to do. He was the unblemished lamb needed for sacrifice. So, without real knowledge of this fact; Jesus was chosen to be crucified. He had fulfilled all the prophecies up to that point. Both Cain and Able were named after their Father, Adam. Both men had the choice to make a choice about how they would represent their lineage. You can either be bound by curses or choose to serve God and overcome them.
