Essay / Henry Ford Thesis Statement - 1081
Investors wanted a new, more reliable model, but Ford wanted to fix the problems with its first car before creating a new one. The car investors wanted was a luxury they could sell to the rich and Henry didn't build cars for the rich, but for the poor. While investors waited for a new car, he experimented with better solutions with the investor's money. The investors didn't like the fact that Henry was experimenting with building a new car instead, so they stopped writing the check. Henry Ford didn't like the way his investors controlled him over how he did things, so he decided not to let the rich tell him what to do in his store. He tells himself that for now, his shop will be his shop. He didn't like the rich people who supported him because he considered them to be fools. While he was experimenting in the background at his first company, he worked on a race car. The car developed twenty-eight horsepower and it beat the Alexander Winton with an engine of about three times the horsepower it had. The funny thing is he had no racing experience at the first Detroit race.
