Project ProposalINTRODUCTIONSubject and ObjectiveThis proposal identifies the need for a document that will propose and develop the reasons why a for-profit transport service for Kent should be consulted. This service should be considered due to recent parking and travel issues, both on and off campus. There are many reasons why parking on campus has become difficult in recent years. Increasing student enrollment at Kent State University has posed many challenges. Car parks cannot meet the growing need for vehicle parking. Campus officials undertook construction projects to alleviate the parking problem, but those renovations resulted in short-term lot closures. Additionally, the increase in student enrollment has caused overcrowding on campus buses. These on-campus parking issues have also indirectly affected off-campus parking issues. Off-campus parking in the town of Kent can best be described as dismal. The bus service provided by Kent State University is not tailored to individual parking needs and lacks the spontaneity that students often crave. Increased challenges to off-campus parking include a greater degree of regulation from City Hall. Additionally, limitations on guest parking at apartment complexes and rental properties have increased at an increasing rate over the past three years.
