    Music develops the brain and keeps it fit, as has been said earlier in this article. The use of critical thinking is used every day, whether it's coming up with new ideas or needing to strategically work around a situation. The adult world is not easy, which is why qualities such as leadership, self-esteem and confidence are essential for success. Music teaches all of these key elements and that’s why it’s so important from a young age. Music also teaches how to work together, such as being part of a band or orchestra, as well as perhaps a choir. Throughout life, you must be able to interact and work with others; this could be with new friends you meet or during meetings in a work environment. In life too, fear is a huge obstacle; can you get a job, what about finances, what about a family? Nuss states that musical performances “teach children how to take risks and manage fear, which will help them succeed and reach their potential” (Nuss). With this skill and intelligence, they can take responsible risks, learn to put fear aside and do what they want and what is best for them.
