  • Essay / Issues of economic inequality and class division

IntroductionIssues of economic inequality and class division are looming large in developing countries around the world. Karl Marx is notable for his extensive work on these issues and his theories have been a source of information for many researchers to understand the process of social stratification and class conflict. However, Marx does not specify what economic power is manipulated by the “bourgeoisies”. Bourdieu and Weber argued that power is not simply the manipulation of the mode of production and the working class, but is a different instrument (George, 2001). This instrument is undoubtedly offered to individuals by different institutions, but this notion is contested among social theorists. Bourdieu argues that economic instruments are given to people through government and its collaborators, and that political economy is the prior force in the spatial sense based on Habitués theory (Bourdieu, 1986). This essay is a preliminary attempt to investigate one dimension of how these instruments are society's manifestation of the strength of its economic identity against others using these tools. This article focuses on the nature of these instruments in the context of Emirati society and the function of these instruments in the formation of spectator identity, considering the close and complex connection between these instruments and society. Theories of Stratification Bourdieu's Approach Class embodies his restless and relational conception of social life. Another theorist, for example Marx, believes that the reality of social life is based on relationships of heterogeneity and inequality between the upper class and the middle class in a broad...... middle of paper.. ....egregation between the national and the non-national and could be a tool to expand and express national economic powers and emphasize the economic status of the Emirates (Al Mury, 2010). Conclusively, since the UAE is an excellent model for applying certain stratifications such as Bourdieu's Habitués theory and Weber's typology theory. According to class theory and Marx's theory of class division based on economics, the productive system is important and deterministic for all other aspects of society (Chan and Goldthorpe, 2007). I will use UAE citizens as a case study to see whether economic powers are given and created to UAE citizens to express their economic powers through economic opportunities (the instruments) or whether UAE citizens united states have a cultural influence in the creation of their economic identity. segmentation as a way to distinguish yourself from others.
