Ang Lee was born in 1954 in Pingtung, Taiwan. Lee is one of the best directors in the world today, comparing him to water in the title shows how versatile he is. Lee continued his high school education in Taiwan, then flew to the United States of America to complete his bachelor's degree at the University of Illinois, and then he earned his master's degree from New York University. His career began during his final years at NYU, where he worked for a time as an assistant director in the university's student film association. Lee was inspired to write a few screenplays while he was an assistant director; this led him to take a role in a play known as Pushing Hands, his first role in his life. Later in his career, he directed eleven films, some of which were based on novels such as the film The Ice Storm based on the novel by Rick Moody. Lee has also won several awards for his work which brought him fame. Lee is a multilingual director as Taiwanese gentlemen, he has also produced some masterpieces of Taiwanese industry. But to get to this point in his life, Lee had to struggle like any other person. Lee did not produce a single film for several years after graduating from NYU, but a new production company named Good Machine agreed to finance his first mainstream film on a low budget. His first film led to his popularity in Asia; this gave him the opportunity to work more. Films such as the second film The Wedding Banquet made in 1993 was a film based on traditional Taiwan culture and a mixture of modern 21st century homosexual concepts; this won him a Golden Bear, and he...... in the middle of a newspaper...... learns about Islam when he passes through a mosque. Even though Pi was raised as a Hindu boy by his parents, he is still searching for a God and refers to God, not by his individual name, for example Jesus, Allah or Shiva, but by calling him a “God”. Lee has made many films during his career, but this film is the one that made him so popular and won many awards. The title “Ang Lee the Water” justifies his work and the quality of his talent.
