  • Essay / Importance of Effective Engagement in Social Work

This situation made me sad because these clients managed to hurt a person who has been nothing but kind to them since they set foot in this establishment. The client, I did my biopsychological interview with the teachers at the treatment center and the clients don't care about her and even tried to get her in trouble because she is what a friend of mine calls " straight, no pursuer" and apparently the clients are not ready to accept this type of approach, but I believe that my supervisor's wife and the client with whom I did my biopsychological interview are what will bring these long-term customers. The caring engagement of staff members has not been effective because they know they can manipulate her and manipulation is one of the main things I was warned about before I started at Shepherd's Shelter. Staff members told me that customers would try to use my good looks against me and say things like "Pastor takes our food stamp cards, uses them to buy snacks for afternoon tea".
