Essay / Personal essay on why writing is difficult - 1078
For me, writing is frustrating. Often I find it difficult to write about anything. The main reason I struggle so much to write is that I don't focus enough on my work. Even when I try my best to concentrate, my mind seems to wander in a different direction to another thought. After that, I forget all my work and just think about various things such as people, places and different moments I have experienced in the past. For example, even as I write this short paragraph, my mind keeps slipping to other thoughts. I don't know if this happens to many people, but it's something I have the most trouble with. Maybe that’s why I’m a slow writer and don’t like writing. When I write, I'm usually in my house located right where my computer is. One thing about me is that I hate writing anything with pen and paper. Most of the time when I'm writing an essay, report, or anything else, I type it on my computer. I can probably type 50 times faster than writing by hand. I guess it's just something I'm better at. I can type around 80 to 85 words per minute. If that's not fast, then I don't know what is. When I write, I can write when it's quiet, loud, during the day, during the night and whatever atmosphere I'm in. Even if the whole house is quiet, I usually listen to music while typing an essay. However, the best time and atmosphere to write anything would be late at night, when everything seems pretty quiet around me. Another important thing for me when I write is that I can't have any distractions near me or around me. Even the Internet on my computer has to be turned off, otherwise I would be tempted to surf online. • Writing is like expressing my feelings on paper. I can write songs, poems, quotes, stories, letters and almost anything you can think of. You can learn a lot about a person by the way they write or simply by the way they express certain words on paper. Writing can also be part of your life.
