  • Essay / Church Visit: Murphy's Landing Community Church

In my article I will talk about my visit to Murphy's Landing Community Church (MLCC). I chose this particular church because it is a family type of church and my neighbor goes there and she encouraged me to go with her. I went there with my neighbor on April 6, 2014. This church is suitable for this mission because the people there welcome me with an open heart and are ready to help me and provide me with information. When I visit the church website, I read these words: “We know that visiting a new church can be intimidating. But we want to help you be as comfortable as possible when and if you join us.” People gather in church each week to glorify God in joyful worship. Expressions of worship on CCML take many forms: prayer, a hymn of reverent awe, the sound of guitar accompanied by a chorus of praise, or even a warm handshake and a welcoming smile. Their weekly services begin at 9:30 a.m. each Sunday at the church. Additionally, they offer a weekly podcast if anyone would like to listen to it online. They offer many types of services for parents, children and students. The CCML people were very friendly; they gather around me and begin to welcome me, one by one. People introduce themselves to me one after the other and provide me with their contact information and help. Then we start talking about religious services and Christianity in particular. CCML's mission was to know, grow and love. They seek to live out our mission by worshiping together as a local community of believers, growing in spiritual maturity through discipleship, education and small groups, caring for one another within the context of the larger church body and small groups, and communicating love. of Christ to our world, both through local outreach and global mission...... middle of paper ...... in Islam, singing has never part of a ritual practice. This church was different from any other place of worship I have visited before. I was very happy after this experience, because they still send me emails, emails and thank you cards every Sunday. Before leaving, they gave me a copy of the New Testament book and the story of Jesus to help me with my research. I didn't feel like a stranger or a guest; I felt like I was part of the group and that my gift was important to them. Clearly, through this experience, their goals were to know God by believing in Christ, to grow in faith and spiritual maturity by providing opportunities for spiritual growth through life groups, and to love and serve others selflessly as Christ did, equipping and preparing for service and providing diverse opportunities to serve within the Church, in our community and in the world.
