Igor was a psychologist thanks to his mother and acquired a strong love for art and Leonardo da Vinci. He traveled extensively throughout Europe when he was young. Igor also came to the United States and became a school teacher. He later started his own aerospace company. Igor Sikorsky was born in kyiv, Russian Empire. He had a Russian and Polish noble family, his father was Ivan Alexeevich Sikorsky and his mother Mariya Stefanovna Sikorskaya. During his childhood, he acquired a passion for art through his mother's home schooling. At the age of eleven, Igor went with his father to Germany and became interested in natural sciences. Returning home, Igor began making flying machines, and by the age of twelve he had his own helicopter powered by a rubber band.
