I was so proud and happy to have created this complex machine from scratch. Now I admit that considering how far technology has come since then and how fast computers are now, that first computer I built isn't that impressive these days, but I have it always. In retrospect, this desire to not only understand computers, but to use my knowledge of technology to build things from scratch myself is part of what made me identify with Steve Jobs and what made him such a big inspiration to me: Steve Jobs was always pushing technology. the industry by leading Apple's efforts to create exciting new technologies from the ground up, from the Mac to the iPod to the iPhone. I greatly admire the fact that Steve Jobs took his own desire to build things from scratch and used it to transform the world we live in.
